My first ever blog entry!!!!

I know a very clichéd way to start a blog!

I find myself in a very verbose mood when I sit by my window sill, sipping my ginger tea, watching the rain unleash it fury on the city. Wow, what a day it has been. In a way I was sad, in a way happy for this natures fury, as it disrupted the daily mundane lives of people and added some amount zing to it all, in a very different way!

I have always loved the rainy season, been my favorite season for it’s the one season where you get to see the most amazing pallet of colours. The different greens of the trees, the bright washed colours of the mountains, the rainbow colours of the umbrellas and the different shaded of every colour which seems to brighten up in this season.

It definitely makes me fell very nostalgic. That’s one of the strongest emotions that the rains evoke in me. It reminds me of the times when as a kid my sister and I would dance in the court yard when the first monsoon showers hit. It was the sheer joy of rain drops which had a soothing effect on us after the scorching summer heat. Making those small paper boats and floating them in the rain water drains… warding them and giving them directions tills they either drowned because of the fragile make or made it to the end of their journey falling off into the end of the drain, disappearing into the dark deep end of the drain!! Success of our little mission, time for the next one!

One of the best part of my memories of rains have been those of collecting tadpole and baby frogs! Its was sheer amount of fun… all along the drains. And when I say drains, these weren’t as bad as the one you have these days, they were the rain water drains, which came alive with the gushing waters of the first showers. Life was simple, with all its beauty. The rains just filled the air with a fresh smell of the ground soo very unlike the one u get these days, that of rotting garbage!!!

These memories of my small row house days in suburban Mumbai to the beautiful treks that we all had during college days!!! That’s where I love Pune rains even more!!!! They were just enough to get wet and have that feeling of a rainy season… but not so torrential to cause a havoc and disrupt life in the city! They were perfect to just ride the bike along the banks of the Khadakvasla dam or ride all the way up to Sinhagad.. or on extremely adventurous days… take our bikes all the way to Lonalvla!!! How scenic were these journeys… getting all drenched in the rains, reaching the destinations and most of all the heavenly foods of the mansooon! Butta!!! Or in angrezi… the corn!!! All smoked on the charcoal… just waiting for us… at the misty turns of Lonavla!!! I am sure all those from Mumbai and Pune will be able to identify with this!!!

Humm… love the thought of that butta.. and definitely am feeling like having one now!! So off I am for now.. getting hold of that buttawala… I think hez round the corner somewhere… huummm!!!

But I partake with the promise of more thoughts, most of them might be very much the ‘foood thoughts’ !!! ;)!
Starting down the lane…… wherever the trail takes me!

hmm.. interesting.. but still confused if this attempt is going to be short stories, or just a blog... to express your thoughts..
if it is a blog.. then it is a good attempt, but if it is a short story.. i could not connect the dots.. finally, I hope you have an umbrella....
